Giving Thanks

We’ve got a lot to be thankful for around here.

First, for Christopher, our hard-working husband and loving daddy, who couldn’t be with us this weekend because he is in Virginia loading a truck with the entire contents of our house and driving it to Atlanta.

For Christopher’s great job, and all that comes with it. A new adventure in Atlanta, finding a perfect apartment there, and finding someone to take over our lease in Virginia.

For health. And health insurance when we aren’t so healthy.

For family. My mom flying to Washington and driving back to Columbia in one day. Christopher’s dad flying across the country to help him move. My dad for serving our country and paying for all the food we are eating and electricity we are using. Christopher’s mom for helping us move just a few months ago!

For the cooks in the kitchen…

..who produced a feast that included turkey, ham, dressing, sweet potato souffle (one with marshmallows, one with pecans), broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, lima beans, pickled beets, rutabagas, rolls, and lemonade.

For cousins. Gavin loved playing with my first cousin, Macon, who is only eight months older.

For after-Thanksgiving dessert on Carroll Farm Road, where Megan and Gavin had more fun with cousins. I am 8th of 20-odd Carroll grandkids, and the next generation of second cousins is getting quite large.

For this big 10-month-old boy and his brother.

For warm weather, full bellies, and reuniting with Christopher at the end of this weekend.

  1. Very nice. I love looking at Benny's outfits and thinking out cute they will be on Atticus in a year or so! He's still in 0-3 months though… so it'll be awhile!
