Disney World – Wednesday

Wednesday morning we took the water taxi to Hollywood Studios. We headed straight to Toy Story Mania, which already had a 40-minute wait. Christopher rode with Megan and Gavin, then I rode with Megan and Gavin in the handicapped line, which takes you right on. I also got Fastpasses for later. It was a fun ride and Gavin and Megan loved it, but later I saw people standing in a two-hour line to ride it. I just didn’t understand that.

While Christopher was riding with Megan and Gavin, I took Benjamin to see a preschooler-friendly Playhouse Disney show. He hated it. He didn’t want to sit on the carpet, and he cried when Mickey popped up on the stage. I took him to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Backlot instead, which is a glorified playground. Ben loved that. All he wanted to do during our trip was run around, away from the crowds, characters, and noises.

Christopher joined us and we let the kids play for a little while, then Christopher took Megan to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which we thought might be too scary for Gavin. While they were doing that, Gavin and Ben and I met Annie and Leo from Little Einsteins. Gavin loved it, and I realized taking the time to see the characters might be worth it. Ben refused to look at the camera, but didn’t cry, so that was something.

We ate lunch at the ABC Commissary. Once again, even our fast-food mealtime experience with Ben was excruciating. We ate quickly, and Christopher took Ben back to the hotel.

Once they were gone, Megan and Gavin and I had a lot of fun. We walked onto the Great Movie Ride, saw a Muppet 3-D movie, used our Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania, went on the Backlot Tour, did a Chronicles of Narnia attraction (one of my least favorite, just watching a movie trailer standing up). We also went through Voyage of the Little Mermaid again, got some ice cream, and saw a parade.

We met Christopher and Ben back at Magic Kingdom. We did the Tiki Room (Ben didn’t last long) and the Magic Carpets of Aladdin. We ate dinner at Pecos Bill’s and then I left with the boys.

Christopher and Megan had fun at Magic Kingdom together. They toured Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, the Laugh Factory, a shooting arcade, and watched the evening fireworks show.
